Happy Diwali Everyone,

There will be a number of Remembrance Day ceremonies in Calgary on November 11. You can find many of them here: . There are Sunrise and Sunset Ceremonies daily leading up to the 11th at the Field of Crosses on the North side of Memorial Drive between 3 St NW & Centre St.

The New Central Library will be hosting a free legal clinic on Wednesday November 14 from 9:30am-3:30pm. Space is limited and by appointment only, please call (403) 541-4804 by November 5th to reserve your spot.

Have you RSVP’d yet for FREE BOWLING with CASS at SAIT on November 9, from 1-2pm? If not, please don’t forget to let us know if you plan on coming, as space is limited.

If you are looking for more ways to get informed before the Nov. 13th vote on hosting the Olympics and Paralympics in Calgary, there will be a Town Hall-style meeting to discuss the pros and cons on November 7 at the Central Library from 6:30-8pm. There are limited spots available to attend in-person (which you can reserve through ) but the event will be live-streamed on, and broadcast over 99.1FM.

Nov 10: Diabetes Awareness Day and Expo @ University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine, Health Science Centre (3330 Hospital Dr NW) 8am-2pm. Learn about self-management, current research, and community resources

Nov 10: The Group Art Society of Calgary’s Fall Show and Sale @ St Peter’s Anglican Church (903 75 Ave SW) 10am-4pm. Free refreshments and door prizes of original local art.

Nov 11: Artisan Fair @ Fort Calgary (750 9 Ave SE) 11:30-5pm. Admission is free with a donation to the Veteran’s Food Bank

Nov 11: “All Quiet on the Western Front” Movie @ Central Library (800 3 St SE) 3-6pm.


Nov 7: Mary & Max Relaxed Performance @ Theatre Calgary (220 9 Ave SE) 7:30-9:30pm. This heartwarming performance about pen pals will include ASL interpretation, and a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the show.

Nov 8: Adults Only Night: Urban Survival @ Telus SPARK Science Centre, 6-10pm. This month’s focus is on how to survive when disaster strikes. Regular admission rates apply, or you can sign out one of CASS’ Community Connections Passes

Nov 8-11: Millarville Christmas Market @ Millarville Race Track (306097 192 St W Millarville, Ab) 10am-5pm. This is the 30th year of southern Alberta’s biggest Christmas market. Admission is $5.

Nov 9-11: Okotoks Christmas Market @ Foothills Centennial Centre (204 Community Way ; 58 Elizabeth St, Okotoks AB) Fri 4-8pm, Sat 10am-6pm, Sun Noon-5pm.Admission is $5.

Nov 10 & 11: Rinse for Rescue @ Pet Valu (8835 MacLeod Tr SW) Sat 10am-9pm, Sun Noon-6pm. Self-serve Pet Baths, all supplies included. $10 donation to Boston Terrier Rescue Canada required.
